There was something very important I was supposed to tell you on the podcast this week, but I totally forgot! 

Hello, by the way. This is Andrew, from TBTL. I hope this email finds you well. 

So, you know that Luke and I are friends with a very funny bunny named Snax, right? Snax is a standup comedian here in Seattle, and we go way back. Snax was even on TBTL once! (I can’t believe that was 8 years ago…)

Well, Snax’s career is still going strong, in case you haven’t been following along. Snax has appeared on The Gong Show, was recently named one of The Stranger’s “Undisputable Champions of Comedy”, and has been hosting comedy nights at the best venue in Seattle for a cottontailed comedian: The Rabbit Box Theatre in the heart of Pike Place Market.

Snax reached out this week to let us know that this Sunday night’s showcase is going to be a very special one, featuring comedian Josh Fadem! If that name doesn’t ring an immediate bell, what if I described him as “Liz Lemon’s agent on 30 Rock”? 

YES, IT’S THAT JOSH FADEM!

You may also know him as one of the young filmmakers constantly scrambling to make low budget commercials on Better Call Saul, or this cool customer on HBO’s Animals:

So if you love comedy, television, and furry woodland creatures, I really can’t think of a better way to spend your Sunday night. You can get your tickets here or at the door. Just tell ‘em Andrew sent ya! (Actually, don’t say that. They won’t have any idea what you’re talking about, and it’ll be painfully awkward. I don’t even like to picture that scene.)

Listener Levi: a song for the willful by Michele Khazak

My friend Michele Khazak died recently. She was a beautiful singer/songwriter/performer who had a lot more to share with the world, and her loss has been gutting to those of us who knew and collaborated with her. She was supposed to have a performance in November that would have been her first in a long time, and I was really looking forward to seeing and hearing her again. It's sad to know we'll never hear anything new from her. Anyway, here's a song she contributed to Ball of Wax back in 2017. It's lovely and poignant all on its own, all the more so in light of her sudden departure. Thank you, Levi.

Luke re-watched a movie on an airplane this weekend and is bowled over at how prescient the film was. Meanwhile, Andrew saw Begonia and is putting together a unified theory of films in 2025. Plus, Andrew is blown away by a cable network’s “panel of experts.” And Russell Wilson announces his new Cameo business.

Luke’s D.C. adventures continue with a jog past a partially demolished White House and a brief encounter with the Secret Service. Andrew has a beef with his cat, Bingo. And they discuss Target’s new “smiling” policy for their employees and a lawsuit over tequila.

A conversation about window coverings prompts Luke to examine his unusual behavior in hotel rooms. Meanwhile, Bingo the Cat gives Andrew QUITE the scare during today’s show!

Andrew talks in detail about his unsure entry into the world of Dungeons and Dragons. A story about the use of A.I. in documentaries has Luke very concerned. And a favorite TBTL song scats its way back onto the show.

Friday, November 19
Andrew’s neighborhood (and its resident pets) is on official Coyote Watch. Luke offers some solutions based on a 1990s-era awareness campaign. They also discuss the famous space crime that DIDN’T happen. And they look at the 21 million year old history of the first kiss.
