Looks like we got ourselves an honest to gosh mystery on our hands, folks! Well, we don’t have a mystery on our hands, really. You have a mystery on your hands.

Hello, by the way! Andrew Walsh here, checking-in from the TBTL podcast. I hope this email finds you well.

I’m not sure if you’ve had a chance to listen to today’s podcast yet (and it’s okay if you haven’t! I’m not judging you or your listening habits. Just make sure you give it a spin in the next 24 to 48 hours if you want to stay in my good graces.)

ANYWAY, we did make a pretty big announcement on the show today regarding the Great TBTL Billboard Hunt. You might recall that it’s been a longtime dream of ours to buy some billboard space for the podcast. We had our eyes on a specific sign near my house, but we quickly learned that billboards in Seattle are quite expensive. So we started looking for more affordable space.

Welp, after a lot of hard work and diligent research, we’ve found our location! We’ve paid our down payment, the check apparently cleared, and we even have a design in the works. This is really happening!

Now, you might be asking yourself, where exactly is this billboard? Well, my friends, that’s what we want you to tell us. I mean, we know where it is, but we want to see if you can guess. So over the course of the next five weeks, we are going to give you one clue every Friday on the podcast. Each clue will get slightly more specific each week.

TBTL’s Chief Business Boy Jon Sklaroff joined us on the show today to reveal the first clue. But in case you missed it (again, you aren’t obligated to listen to the podcast, but in the words of David Wooderson, it would be a lot cooler if you did) I asked Jon to record this quick, newsletter-exclusive video clue:

There you go! Clue #1 is out there. Do you have any guesses? Think you can get it on the first try? Email your ideas to Jon here. Jon will join us again next Friday to go over some of your answers and to offer the second clue.

For what it’s worth, we’re looking for a specific place -- not just a state or region. So offer up names of cities, towns, townships, municipalities, unincorporated communities, geographical locations or specific galactic energy fields.

Happy hunting, everyone! Can’t wait to hear what you come up with. In the meantime, have a great weekend, listen to Friday’s podcast already, and Luke and I will talk to you on Monday!

Ten Of The Week

Photo of listener Jenn talking into a yellow landline phone that is wall mounted in what looks like a kitchen area maybe.

What’s your name and where do you live?
Jennifer Oak. Snohomish.

When did you start listening to TBTL? How did you find the show?
At the recommendation of a friendo, I started listening in 2010 but have time-bandited to catch up from the beginning.

How would your friends describe you?
I'd like to think they'd describe me as a boss-a**-b****, but they're likely to say nice & dependable.

What was your favorite cereal when you were a kid?Is it still your fav?
As a kid, probably Lucky Charms (sugary, super-cute, usually not available to me). Aesthetically it still holds up, but it's not a favorite now.

What food do you love to eat the most of?
If I'm being honest (because it's only like Tens of people), I love to eat the most of tortilla chips, or ice cream. Shhh.

What’s the best or worst nickname you ever had?
Old lady (my oldest thought it was funny when she was a teenager)

If you could play one song on TBTL, what would it be?
Veneno by La Dame Blanche. Pure perfection from beginning to end.

What’s a special skill that you have?
I'm pretty good at organizing things, like physical items/spaces, thoughts, processes, or even groups and events.

What’s a skill you *wish* you had?
I wish I could sing well, like Aretha Franklin-well. THAT’s a special skill.

If you were driving down the street and you saw Luke and Andrew on the sidewalk, what would you yell at them as you drove past?
Ahoy hoy fellas.

Can other Tens find you on social media? If so, how?
@joak_art on Instagram.

#4469 The Possible Over-Indexing Of Gorman Thomas
Monday, May 19
Luke saw the new Tim Robinson / Paul Rudd movie Friendship this weekend, and it was a whole happening! He and Andrew also reminisce about the time Luke pretended to broadcast an inning of a baseball game, and why Andrew would never even attempt such a feat.

#4470 Fifty Shades Of Jones
Tuesday, May 20
Andrew went to see Friendship yesterday, so he and Luke are able to give a proper (spoiler-free!) review. Luke also reviews a restaurant called Texas Roadhouse after spending 8 minutes there. And Andrew needs help picking a new phone.

#4471 Go Off, Unhinged King!
Wednesday, May 21
Luke has a new nemesis in the air travel game. And she’s a two year old. He and Andrew also remember George Wendt, who passed away this week.

#4472 Born In The Endzone, Thought Got A Touchdown
Thursday, May 22
Luke had a mini-showdown on a recent TV shoot that almost required him to wear a camera on his head. Plus, he’s all fired-up about a recent obit that seems disingenuous. And Andrew got a new phone, so he’s in a weird place right now.

#4473 Speedball Air Will Get You There
Friday, May 23
TBTL Business Boy Jon Sklaroff hops on the show to launch THE GREAT TBTL BILLBOARD HUNT! Can you guess where we’re putting up our billboard? Jon kicks-off the adventure by offering the first clue.
