Hey there, Friendos! Andrew, here, from TBTL.

I’m afraid I must keep this newsletter brief this week. It’s not just because I got a late start today (which I did.) And it’s not because I have a new computer that’s making everything take a little bit longer than usual (which it is.) It’s not because my wrists are aching from my carpal tunnel situation (which they are.) It’s not even because the Mariners game is on and I want to watch it (which I sort of do, although they’re already losing to the Nationals by two runs.)

It’s because these newsletters have been too dang long lately, and I think we can all use a little break! From me!

Besides, this week’s Hey Dummies video is a delight, and I don’t want to keep you from it any longer than necessary.

I will take a moment to encourage anyone who’s never been featured as a Ten of the Week to fill out our little questionnaire. It’s a great way for us to get to know our fellow Tens! And who know, it could make you famous. That’s how Huey Lewis made it big. A lot of people don’t know that.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that the Mariners turn things around soon (now they’re down by four.) We’ll talk to you on Monday!

Andrew

Ten Of The Week

What’s your name and where do you live?
April Nilsen. In (the Arby’s district of) Edmonds, WA

When did you start listening to TBTL? How did you find the show?
I saw someone list TBTL as an interest on a dating app back in 2019 and thought, “What’s a TBTL?” I knew Luke from Wait, Wait, and the rest is history.

How would your friends describe you?
Empathetic & silly. I’m thankful not to take myself too seriously and have always had mom energy, even before I was one.

What was your favorite cereal when you were a kid?Is it still your fav?
Probably Berry, Berry Kix, since they were the  most sugary thing I was allowed. I’m more of a Raisin Bran Crunch girl now on the rare occasion I have cereal.

What food do you love to eat the most of?
Probably sushi - I’m pretty sure I could eat it everyday and never get bored!

What’s the best or worst nickname you ever had?
April doesn’t lend itself to great nicknames, but I often get accidentally called Rachel, so I’ve adopted it as my alter-ego when needed!

If you could play one song on TBTL, what would it be?
Out of my Head by First Aid Kit

What’s a special skill you have that you’re most proud of?
I’m a pretty super organizer and color-coder.

What’s a special skill that you *wish* you had?
I wish I could still casually do a proper cartwheel - that’s always a good party trick!

If you were driving down the street and you saw Luke and Andrew on the sidewalk, what would you yell at them as you drove past?
“Ahoy hoy!”

Hey, it’s Andrew here again. Just a reminder that you can find ourTen of the Week form here! If you’ve never been a TOTW before  (or if it’s been a really, really long time) fill out our little questionnaire. And check out ourTen of the Week archive here!
